If
you’ve read any of my previous reviews on Gurkha cigars you know I wasn’t a big
fan of them at first, but that was a long time ago and I’ve had the pleasure of
smoking some of their better cigars and the Ninja is no exception.

Ninja cigars are loaded with the kind of rich flavor and complexity for which
Gurkha cigars are famous. You’ll enjoy a medium-bodied smoke with an
earthy-woody base underpinned by flavors of coffee and cream on a remarkably
clean finish. You may also find notes of
chocolate, caramel and other sweet flavors in the mix.
The
first thing I noticed was the Ninja was a very well made cigar! Solid in the hand the wrapper had nice lines
and veins all wrapped in a nice dark brown wrapper. I got this particular cigar from a local
cigar shop and I felt it was a little on the dry side. The head cut nice and clean with a very good
dry draw. Upon lighting the nose yielded
a very nice aroma producing thick dense smoke…in fact this cigar was a “Smoke
Monster” from start to finish! The draw
was also very good and hit after hit produced think, aromatic smoke yielding
notes right off the bat of coffee and dark if not bitter chocolate. At points the cigar almost had a dry, bitter
taste moving gain to coffee and chocolate notes. The cigar overall burnt well. There were a few times I had a runner which I
think was due more to the way the cigar had been stored instead of its overall
construction. All together the Gurkha
Ninja was another pleasant cigar. I
didn’t like it as well as the Ghost Angel, but this was a solid smoke.
