When
I heard that we were able to get Dogfish Head beer again in these parts I damn
near split my pants with the instant erection I got. Dogfish Head has been gone for about 3 years
now or ever since their show “Brewmaster’s” mysteriously was pulled from the
History Channel’s programming lineup for allegedly upsetting the Beverage Giant
MBEV who coincidently is a major sponsor (Budweiser) of said channel!
All
that being said I had to sit back and follow Dogfish Head (@dogfishbeer) on
twitter and Crackbook silently hoping it would return to me someday! Well my wait is over and I present Dogfish
Head 60 Minute IPA!
Style:
American IPA
%ABV:
6.0
Brewery:
Dogfish Head Craft Brewery
BeerAdvocate: 92 Outstanding!!!
As
far as IPAs go 60 minute is a solid as they come. Not too hoppy and not too malty. Its flavor profile is a well-balanced IPA and
pairs with Pizza of any style! The beer
pours a nice light straw color with a nice bubbly head. The aroma is that of hops with hints of malt
and grass. First sip is a modest hop explosion
with a smooth bitter finish with hints of malt.
It’s a lighter tasting beer for an IPA and I’m pretty sure I could drink
several of these much to the chagrin of my liver!
Right
now we can get the 60 minute, 90 minute IPAs and Midas Touch which is an
ancient ale. I found Dogfish at both
Binny’s and Friar Tuck in Champaign, IL.
Haven’t found it yet in Indiana where up until 3 years ago it was
abundant. So if you’re craving some DFH
Beer then I highly suggest you get your ass in a car and shag ass to Champaign
and get your drink on!
Cheers!
